About us

When you say vintage; you say Decennia Design. We are passionate collectors of my Midcentury Modern design from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s.

We started in 2002 in a former bakery, after which Decennia Design has quickly grown into what it is today. More than 2,000 m2 full of furniture, accessories and lighting.

In addition to private individuals from home and abroad, we also count interior architects among our clients and we rent out our furniture to film sets.

Christiaan and Angelique

In 2002 Christiaan seized the opportunity to share his passion with Angelique; vintage design, make it its profession.
He has now built up an extensive network and enormous knowledge and he buys the most beautiful items.
Angelique supports him in particular with her administrative knowledge and sales experience and finds satisfaction in nice (customer) contacts.

Staff members

If you call or email us, there is a good chance that you will get Manon on the line. Since August 2018 she has been taking care of online orders, reservations and planning.
She has a creative background and has worked for years as a project manager at an advertising agency. She also recently completed a study interior design and styling.

Elko is also a passionate collector of vintage design. He is happy to pass on his knowledge to us and our customers.
He previously worked at DHL. He has been working at Decades Design since April 2016.
He processes orders, critically checks incoming new items and repairs where necessary.
If you ask him for advice in our showroom, his talent for imagination, design and his special taste will come to the fore.

During her studies, Angela started at Decennia Design as a weekend help. She has been employed on a permanent basis since February 2016 and we can rightly call her our happiest colleague. Angela has previously worked in childcare.
She prefers to drive one of our buses and deliver your purchase to your home. Fortunately, Manon can regularly send her out for a ride in Amsterdam or Antwerp.
She loves the things we sell and she polishes and repairs them carefully. In her spare time she likes to go shopping with Christiaan and Elko.

Janne has completed a creative education at the Willem de Kooning Academy and has been working with us since March 2018.
At Decennia Design, she focused on upholstering furniture and supervising trainees in the field of photography. Together with colleagues, she keeps an eye on the layout of the showroom.
What Janne prefers to do is to further improve herself in upholstering. She’s right, because good professionals don’t run out of work quickly.

The photo on the right shows Ad, his function: ‘problem solver’. He didn’t want to retire yet, which is why he is restoring design funiture at Decennia design; from repairing a lock to the complete sanding and varnishing of a dresser. What Ad likes best is copying, for example, a handle of a dresser that has broken, so that it looks as good as new again
